“Toy Story 3D”  (G)

–With Andy going away to college, his toys end up in day care . . . which they HATE . . . so they immediately start planning their escape.  Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Don Rickles, and of course, John Ratzenberger, are all back for this one.

Timothy Dalton, Ned Beatty, and Whoopi Goldberg play some of the new toys they meet in daycare . . . and Michael Keaton is the voice of Barbie’s new crush, Ken.

–Sadly, Jim Varney did not get to return as the voice of Slinky Dog.  He died from lung cancer 10 years ago.  They replaced him with a character actor named Blake Clark.

“Jonah Hex”  (PG-13)

–A supernatural Western about a scar-faced bounty hunter hunting down the guy who killed his family.  It’s based on the DC Comic and stars Josh Brolin as Hex, John Malkovich as the villain, and an unbelievably sexy-looking Megan Fox.

“Cyrus”  (R)

–A comedy starring John C. Reilly as a guy struggling to hold onto a new relationship with Marisa Tomei after he realizes that her grown son can’t stand him.

Jonah Hill plays Cyrus, her overprotective son . . . who still lives with mommy and, apparently, has no problem walking in on her while she’s taking a shower.

“The Killer Inside Me”  (R)

–It stars Casey Affleck as a small town sheriff’s deputy who turns out to be a serial killer.  Jessica Alba plays a prostitute he’s nailing, Kate Hudson is his girlfriend, and “The Mentalist’s” Simon Baker is an attorney trying to expose him.

–It’s directed by Michael Winterbottom, who also directed “A Mighty Heart”.

“Dear John” (PG-13)

–Channing Tatum is a soldier who falls in love with a college girl while he’s home on leave. She’s played by “Mamma Mia” minx Amanda Seyfried. Most of the story is told through the love letters they send each other once he’s deployed for war.

–It’s another movie based on a Nicholas Sparks novel. He also wrote “The Notebook”, “A Walk to Remember”, “Message in a Bottle”, and the upcoming Miley Cyrus flick “The Last Song”.

“From Paris With Love” (R)

“Frozen” (R) (Limited)

–Three snowboarders are left dangling above the ground as a resort shuts down for the week . . . and then they have to try to escape from their chairlift before they all freeze to death. Graphic scenes include a pack of wolves attacking the dude who jumps from the chair . . . and the hot chick having to RIP THE SKIN OFF HER HAND after it gets frozen to the chairlift’s metal bar.

–It stars Shawn Ashmore (who you’d know as Iceman in the “X-men” movies), a chick named Emma Bell, and “Air Bud’s” Kevin Zegers as the three stranded friends. Kane Hodder, who’s famous for playing Jason in the “Friday the 13th” movies, is also in it.

“Avatar” (PG-13)

–This is the new sci-fi flick from James Cameron that supposedly changes how movies mix live-action and digital animation. It’s about humans invading an alien planet in search of a mineral that can solve Earth’s energy crisis.

–Sam Worthington plays a paraplegic soldier who infiltrates the blue-skinned aliens through an “avatar” . . . a genetically engineered alien body that he controls with his mind. But he falls for a female alien and switches sides. It’s meant to be seen in 3-D, but you can also watch it in 2-D.

–Sigourney Weaver plays the doctor flipping his mind back and forth between bodies and Michelle Rodriguez is his pilot. (–You’d know Sam Worthington for playing Marcus Wright, the cyborg who thinks he’s human, in “Terminator Salvation”.)

“Did You Hear About the Morgans?” (PG-13)

–Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker play a couple whose divorce plans are ruined when they witness a murder. Then they’re forced to keep living together in the witness protection program while they’re hunted by a contract killer.

–When the play first opened on Broadway back in 1982 it starred Raul Julia as Guido, the director. Antonio Banderas was the star when they revived the play in 2003 but he turned down the chance to do the movie version.

“Brothers”  (R)

Natalie Portman plays a Marine wife who’s told that her husband died in Afghanistan.  His brother consoles her a little TOO well and they fall in love.  Unfortunately, her husband DIDN’T die.  And as soon as he suspects that his brother’s been plowing his wife, it all hits the fan.

Tobey Maguire plays the jealous husband and Jake Gyllenhaal is his brother.  (–It’s weird what a difference a buzz cut can make.  I never really thought of Tobey Maguire as that much of a bad ass, but with those wild eyes and that military haircut he looks INTENSE.)
