JAY-Z SAYS MTV DISSED EMINEM!!

Jay-Z is honored that MTV named him the “Hottest MC in the Game,” but he criticized the network for leaving Eminem off the list. Jay dropped a statement saying: “MTV, Thanx for this nod of appreciation,” the rapper said in a statement. “Although I don’t strive to be ‘hot’ for any particular year, I thank you for the acknowledgment. My whole goal is to be recognized as the best ever. I created the term ‘best rapper alive’ as a sign of respect to my fallen comrades (Biggie and Tupac). I believe I’ve allowed a significant grace period, and I believe I would not be respecting myself if being the absolute best was not my goal, and that’s why I continue to push myself until exhaustion … salute.”
From there, Jay-Z’s statement goes on to question why MTV omitted Eminem from this year’s Hottest MCs roster: “Sidebar: Kanye moment if I may … Eminem?!?! I think you do the credibility of this list a disservice if you don’t thoroughly explain his omission. As of this second, he has the highest selling rap album of the year and a scene-stealing verse on the best ‘posse’ cut of the year. (*Hands mic back to Taylor Swift … and nobody was harmed, I apologize in advance.)”
MTV says Eminem was not included on the list because he was inactive during the summer while he worked on Relapse 2. MTV says other rappers “generated week-to-week heat with mixtapes, guest appearances, performances and Web activity.”
MTV posted this explanation on its web site:
“Eminem’s ranking was one of the most discussed topics at the Roundtable. His hotly anticipated return to hip-hop after a long absence drove first-week sales of over 600,000 — the highest first-week sales of the year so far. He granted a handful of select interviews here and abroad, and was part of a massive moment with Sacha Baron Cohen at the MTV Movie Awards.
But then Em retreated to the lab, where he spent the summer crafting Relapse 2. From June to September, Em all but took himself out of the public eye, while other MCs generated week-to-week heat with mixtapes, guest appearances, performances and Web activity.
He returned in September with comedic moments and a win at the VMAs, then dropped a verse on Drake’s “Forever” (also featuring Kanye West and Lil Wayne). The song’s move into heavy rotation came subsequent to our roundtable vote. In between, he kept his profile low.
Eminem is one of the best ever on the mic. His track record is undeniable. The Hottest list deals with right now, though. If the Brain Trust had compiled the Hottest list back in May, there’s no doubt Eminem would have made the Top 10.
In the end, the Hottest MCs in the Game is representative of the opinion of the members of the Brain Trust. You have every right to disagree. That’s what the Hottest MCs is all about: engaging in a thought-provoking, informed, fervent dialogue about hip-hop, the music and culture we all love.”

KELLY CLARKSONS OPEN LETTER TO KANYE WEST ….OUCH!! READ IT HERE!!

Kanye West
Dear Kanye,
What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like shit. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??
I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her…so why can’t you be?? I’m not even mad at you for being an asshole…I just pity you because you’re a sad human being.
On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!!
Taylor Swift, you outsell him ….that’s why he’s bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl!

MTV announced the nominations for this year’s Video Music Awards yesterday, and BEYONCE is tied with LADY GAGA for the most nominations, with nine each. BRITNEY SPEARS came in second with seven nominations.

CHECK OUT THE LATEST SHOWS
IN DEVELOPMENT AT MTV…..

If you’re a fan of MTV’s non-music related programming, or in other words,if you’re a fan of MTV here’s a look at some new shows they’re currently developing:
There’s a half-hour animated series called “The Awesomes” . . . about a group of lazy superheroes. It’s being written by “Saturday Night Live” star SETH MEYERS.
MTV is also putting together a series based on the MICHAEL J. FOX classic, “Teen Wolf”. The movie if you can believe it . . was released 19 years ago.
There aren’t a lot of details on it yet but MTV says it’ll be a “reinvention of the classic ’80s movie for today’s audience.” That doesn’t sound good. But who knows, maybe it’ll be the next “Buffy”
There’s also a sketch comedy show in the works, starring JAMIE FOXX. There isn’t a title for that yet.
It sounds like it may end up being similar to the old show, “In Living Color”, which Jamie did for three seasons back in the early ’90s.
Also, you know that new HBO show, “Hung” which debuts Sunday) .about a guy who’s, uh, well-endowed??? Well MTV is working on a similar show called “Hard Times”, about an unpopular 15-year-old kid with a gift.
And if you haven’t heard, MTV is producing a spin-off of “The Hills” starring AUDRINA PATRIDGE.
None of these shows have premiere dates yet.
