Nas went to court Monday over his divorce with Kelis – and walked out a little lighter in the wallet.
According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nas had to immediately fork over $47,249.42 in back child support and $40,454 in back spousal support.
The judge also ordered Nas to pay $10,000/month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 he owes Kelis.
Nas also has to pay 90% of Kelis’ legal fees in the amount of $155,787.28.
Lastly, Nas has to pay $48,549.83 to cover Kelis’ accounting expenses.
The lesson, as always — when Laura Wasser reps your ex, settle as quickly as possible. Nas just learned that the hard way.

KELIS has announced that her new album will come out on July 6th.  It’s called “Flesh Tone”, and it’ll be her first album in four years.

(–Half of that time was spent pregnant . . . breaking up with NAS . . . and fighting him in court for a ridiculous amount of child and spousal support.)

–Kelis recently debuted a video for the first single, a track called “Acapella”.

–She says, quote, “It’s very ‘last woman standing.  It’s like the end-of-the-world child type thing.  It’s got all these ethnic influences in it. 

–”There is a Native American element to it and an African element to it and an Asian element to it.  It’s really tribal and kind of surreal at the same time.”

 Please buy this album and make her rich so she can let Nas breathe a bit. At the end of the day, ma is super talented and deserves your dough.

Nas reportedly has a tattoo of Kelis on his arm. This one could possibly be Kelis, we guess, but regardless, if he does have it, he’s reportedly getting it removed. Good move. Check out some other tattoos that should be removed.

Don’t be fooled by all the positive-looking time Kelis and Nas have been spending together because the divorce is still a go. As if anyone would give up $40,000 a month, pfft! TMZ has learned that Kelis is still moving forward with divorce proceedings and their November 20th court date is still on.

We wonder if the whole very public divorce battle between Nas and Kelis might be a moot point at this juncture, because the former couple may be a couple again.

Nas and his ex-beloved were at an industry party in New York City on Monday night looking very much back together. Someone even snapped a picture of Kelis giving Nas a sweet kiss on the cheek.

Of course, this is nothing but good news, especially with the recent birth of their son, so we hope it’s true!

The latest news involving Nas’ situation with his ex-wife Kelis was deemed as nothing more than “funny s**t” by the rapper, who seemed to be taken aback by the public’s interest in his personal happenings.

Nas’ reaction comes days after the birth of his Knight and rumors surrounding his divorce from Kelis.

Although she filed for divorce in April, Kelis hinted to infidelity on the part of the Queensbridge lyricist with a June 4 post on Twitter, that blasted husbands who cheated on their wives.

Nas, who maintained he never cheated on Kelis, further touted his good standing in the relationship while admitting to some natural shortcomings as human.

“I heard that I was a cheater,” the rapper told Vancouver, Canada’s Georgia Straight newspaper. “It almost sounds like I was a bad husband. Not to say I was the greatest—I’m not perfect in anything I do—but I think I deserve a f***ing trophy. If I do say so myself, without sounding too cocky, I gotta say I was a hell of a husband and a hell of a dad.”

Despite his claims, Nas’ split from Kelis has turned into a costly affair.

According to the Associated Press, the rapper was ordered last week to pay $30,471 per-month in spousal support and $9,027 per-month in child support as well as $45,000 for Kelis’ attorney’s fees.

“It’s unfortunate when business is out there about your personal s**t, especially when you’re really not the guy to be having his s**t out there,” Nas said. “The sad thing is, you’ve got to get used to it. My skin is so thick that I probably need to write a book for people who are not ready for anything crazy.”

Musically, the rapper is gearing up for the fall release of Distant Relatives, his joint album with reggae superstar Damian Marley.

The duo is currently promoting the project while performing on this year’s Rock the Bells tour.

For Nas, the experience of working with Marley, generated a desire for more children of his own. As for tabloid reports generated by his personal drama, Nas remained upbeat while constantly adjusting to being under the microscope from observers.

“It’s funny that someone would even care about some Nasir Jones s**t,” he said. “I’m still that kid from the block at the end of the day.… So when I watch this s**t, it’s surreal. We get a good laugh off it and say, ‘Hey, they’re talking about me again and it’s some funny s**t.’”

Kelis shared more details about the birth of her son Knight Jones via Twitter last week.

She wrote, “O-k, so I did it. He’s seven-point-eight pounds of the greatest stuff on earth. I was in labor for three of the longest, most painful days of my life.

I don’t understand when women say they don’t remember giving birth. I will remember for the rest of my life.”

Later she posted, “Me and Knight are taking our first car ride today. Woohoo!”

As reported last week, a judge awarded Kelis around 40-thousand dollars a month in support from ex-husband Nas. The couple split in April when Kelis was seven months along.

Last month, KELIS sued NAS for spousal and child support claiming that she had $80,000 in monthly expenses, which she couldn’t afford without Nas’ help.

And now he’s responded, saying that he isn’t as rich as she thinks he is.

For example, Nas is refuting Kelis’ claim that he pulled down $11 million in his last album deal. In his own legal filing, Nas said that he, quote, “did not receive even half that amount.” He says it was more like a $4 million deal.

He also says that his income has been on the DECLINE and now he’s only pocketing around $147,165 a month. That seems like a lot, it’s almost $1.8 million per year, but not if you’re livin’ it up like they do.

Nas says he has over $71,000 in monthly expenses, which includes $10,000 a month in “clothing / hair / toiletries / personal effects.”

So together they need $150,000 a month to survive, and this is BEFORE the baby is born!!

Kelis is due to give birth to their first child a son any day now.

It’s unclear how much Kelis is seeking in spousal and child support but Nas says he’s willing to fork over $5,000 a month in child support.

He also says he wants to be “fully involved” in the parenting of the kid and that he’s already agreed to drop $350 on a stroller, $450 for a baby sling and $1,600 for two baby cribs.

As far as we know, Nas and Kelis are still cool with sharing joint custody.

KELIS has filed legal papers claiming that NAS has refused to offer her spousal support, child support, or help with pregnancy-related expenses.

Nas and Kelis were married for six years, and filed for divorce on April 30th, citing the typical “irreconcilable differences.” Their first baby is due July 21st.

Last month, Nas asked a judge to deny Kelis’ request for spousal support and legal costs. And now things just keep getting uglier.

Kelis is asking the judge to order Nas to help . . . and she also specifically wants $3,500 for a nurse after the child’s birth, $20,000 for strollers, cribs, and other baby supplies . . . and for Nas to provide half of all the medical expenses after the baby is born.

She says, quote “My survival is based on his will at this time. If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid.”

She also claims he’s keeping her jewelry from her, quote, “There were many expensive pieces [of jewelry] such as a princess-cut diamond tennis bracelet that was recently appraised for $190,000.

“My engagement ring is an approximately nine-carat cushion-cut diamond solitaire. I have numerous watches . . . such as Cartier, Rolex, Frank Muller and Chopard.” (???)
