Word has it that KANYE WEST is finishing up his next album . . . tentatively titled “Good Ass Job” . . . and so-called “sources” tell “Billboard” that it’ll drop in June.

–Q-TIP . . . from A TRIBE CALLED QUEST . . . has confirmed that he’s working on a track on the album, and there’s also talk that RZA and PETE ROCK will appear on the disc.  (–We’ll let you know when we hear more.)

The rumors were true:  KANYE WEST and LADY GAGA’S joint Fame Kills tour has been . . . well, killed.  Yesterday, promoter Live Nation confirmed that the tour was being cancelled . . . just 24 hours after they insisted everything was a go.

–The tour was supposed to run from November 10th in Phoenix through January 24th in Dallas.  Tickets for the first leg had already gone on sale.  Refunds are available at the point of purchase.  (–Phone and online ticket sales will be refunded automatically.)

 –No reason was given . . . and neither Kanye nor Gaga have issued a statement.

–Naturally, a lot of people are speculating the cancellation has something to do with Kanye’s outburst at the “MTV Video Music Awards” last month.  In one of his apologies, Kanye talked about how he needed to take some time off.

–That wasn’t expected to happen right away . . . especially since he had this big tour planned . . . but maybe he really IS dealing with some deeper issues.  Or, maybe a lot of people cooled on Kanye after the “VMAs”, and ticket sales were slumping.

–This is all speculation at this point.  When we hear something official . . . from either Kanye, Gaga or Live Nation . . . we’ll be sure to pass that along to you.

–Meanwhile, 50 CENT has apologized for calling Kanye and Gaga’s tour the, quote, “gay tour” during a radio interview . . . (–with New York’s Hot 97) . . . on Wednesday, when the tour was still ON.

–50 had mocked Kanye for saying that he had a lot of gay fans . . . and added, quote, “Kanye’s cool with the gay folk.  I have nothing against them, but he’s cool with them.

–”He goes and drops his video off to them . . . Ellen DeGeneres.  He went there to premiere his video.  He’s conscious of the gay community and wants them to buy his CD.”  (–Fiddy, and the problem with that is . . . ???)

–Naturally, a lot of people were interested in hearing 50 CLARIFY these comments . . . so he issued an apology on his website.

–He said, quote, “During an interview . . . certain comments I made were taken entirely out of context.  When I referred to the Lady Gaga tour as the ‘gay tour,’ I was basically repeating what I thought she had referred to the tour in the past.

–”It was not my intention to offend anyone.  I don’t have a problem with anyone’s lifestyle and have no issue with Lady Gaga, she makes great music.”   

This Taylor Swift incident has apparently had a deep effect on Kanye West. Star magazine is reporting that he’s going to check himself into rehab! According to the report, Kanye has been drinking ever since the passing of his mother in 2007 and that it’s gotten worse with time (as we saw on the VMA red carpet). “His drinking is getting worse,” said a source, “and when he has too much, he can be mean and obnoxious.” Which we’ve all witnessed a few times. “If he doesn’t get help soon, things could really spiral out of control,” the source added. The report says Kanye will check in after his “Fame Kills” tour with Lady GaGa wraps in January.

Meanwhile, Kanye’s not hated EVERYWHERE. He made a surprise appearance at Common’s benefit concert in Hollywood Saturday night and the crowd went nuts about it – in a good way. Kanye rushed onto the stage and stuck around for “Good Life” and “Run This Town” at the show that also featured Nas, Ludacris, De La Soul, The Roots, Mos Def and Talib Kweli.

So on Trevor Nelson’s BBC Radio show in UK Jay responded to Nelson’s suggestion that Kanye wouldn’t have pulled his VMA stunt on 50 as he did Taylor Swift by saying at the 1:23:47 mark,

“I think he would have done it if it was 50 Cent. No ones scared of 50 Cent….I just want everyone to know no one’s scaed of 50 Cent.”

Now of course Ye wouldn’t have done it if it were Gary Coleman but that’s besides the point, the point is 50 got what he wanted after jabbing at Hov on “Flight 187″ and will gladly use this to create some type of “beef” to promote the steamless and still no release date BISD lp.
