Artist: Snoop Dogg

Album: Malice In Wonderland

Now reveling in his Doggfather persona, a far way from the threat that saw a UK tabloid devote it’s front page a plea to ‘Ban this evil bastard’, Snoop D-oh-double-gee returns with his tenth album in sixteen years. Not a bad work rate for music’s most famous stoner (apologies to Willie Nelson).

The expected roll call of all-star producers are on team, including Teddy Riley, Pharrell and Lil Jon, while lead single ‘Gangsta Luv’ is co-produced by Tricky with The Dream. As is the usual major league hip hop album set up a plethora of guest stars appear, leaning towards R’n’B singers this time out, R Kelly, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan and The Dream, rather than his fellow rappers, just Soulja Boy fulfilling that quota.

The title ‘Malice N Wonderland’ is reflected in the album’s structure, the first half (Malice) keeping things gritty before a turn to party mode for the second half (Wonderland). Still a terrible title but at least it makes some sense. The vibe throughout keeps with his laidback, West coast pedigree with the producers clearly working around Snoop’s substantial persona rather than trying to push in any new directions. Buy hey, if it ain’t broken..ya’ll know the rest. Salute

Reviewed by: Dj Killa B

The album starts fittingly enough with “Triumph.” The track is aggressive with its blazing horns, organ loops and congas. Wale accepts the title of the new hotness claiming he wants the vets’ heads more than he wants the dollars. It’s a statement of arrival; a grand entrance, and a look at what he thinks he has to offer. The supporting cast on this album does Wale a lot of justice as well. Bun B gives a hard lyrical prelude on “Mirrors.” Gucci Mane goes in on “Pretty Girls”. Jazmine Sullivan, Chrisette Michelle, Marsha Ambrosius and Melanie Fiona flesh out the hooks and J. Cole gives an awesome performance on “Beautiful Bliss.” Mark Ronson, Cool & Dre, Green Lantern and others lace the young spitter well with soulfully luxuriant soundscapes that work well with Wale’s depth of thought. Wale doesn’t drone on about his deep pockets or his ability to pull and pound the finest booty celebrity can buy, but he claims he does alright for himself. He deals in his reality and suggests other rappers do the same without sounding like he’s standing in a pulpit…This album is Raw Piff…cop it…Salute !!!! Dj Killa B ***This album drops nationwide on November 10th 2009***
Review by: Dj Killa B

When one thinks of Boston and New York the first thing that comes to mind is the infamous Red Sox/Yankees rivalry. But this time when Boston meets New York it’s a collaborative effort to bring the world one of the tightest Hip Hop efforts of 2009. Hailing from Brownsville, Brooklyn, Masta Ace got his proper introduction setting off the quintessential Hip Hop posse cut, “The Symphony.” Not long after, Edo G’s debut Life Of A Kid In The Ghetto and it’s lead single “I Got To Have It” went to the top of the Billboard Rap Singles chart with heavy rotation on Yo ! MTV Raps. Both Ace and Ed have continued to stay relevant, tour the globe, and influence up and coming artists everywhere. The year is 2009 Rap Veteran’s Masta Ace & Edo G have teamed up to produce the album “Arts & Entertainment”. I must say this album is quite refreshment from all the Gun Play/Dough boy rhymes that seem to dominate the game as we speak. This album has that classic Boom Bap feel to it, the production is flawless Ace & Edo enlists the likes of Large Professor, M-Phazes, Dj Spinna, just to name a few. The albums lead single “Little Young” talks about all of the rappers with the names Little or Young, Very Cleaver !!!! (Instant Classic) On top of that some of features include the likes of Marsha Ambrosious formerly ½ of the group Floetry, Posdnuos from legendary group De La Soul, The Teacha KRS-One, and Doitall from the Lords of The Underground. Stand out banga’s consist of track #4 A’s & E’s (This is what we do) the track was produced by Baby Dukes, #9 Good Music is a throwback jawn..produced by Dj Spinna, and #11 Pass The Mic Ft KRS-One produced by Double-O. All In All this album is a definite classic aka a Full Tank of Petro……..Salute

Whenever anyone mentions the name of Detroit rapper Royce Da 5’9,” a whole list of other names surround it. First, people mention his passing resemblance to LL Cool J. Others might know him as the guy who teamed up with teen singer Willa Ford on her 2001 hit “I Wanna Be Bad.” He is also known as the rapper who got a major boost from legendary producer DJ Premier, who produced his 2000 hit “Boom.” Mostly, though, people associate him with Eminem. First off let me start off by saying I am having an Eargasm rockin this CD, this album has been one of Hip Hop’s most highly anticipated for a couple of years now, and now that it has arrived, 2009 is the year for Royce …The album is full of jewels & gems for the ear’s, and as a Bonus the executive producer is none other than Dj Premier, You see where I’m going with this right J this album features Phonte ½ of the duo Little Brother, Busta Rhymes, Slaughterhouse, and Bun B just to name a few, Royce also enlists Detroit’s Trick Trick as well as D12’s Mr Porter. For true heads this album is a definite “must have” in your collection. Some of the standout Banga’s consist of track 5. Dinner Time- Ft Busta Rhymes, #2 Count For Nothing, #4 Something to Ride 2, #15 On The Run, but trust me on this yall make sure you cop the album if you haven’t already… on top of that the skits are funny Ie: (Ho Jack)
