DMX was arrested in Arizona on Wednesday night.  This time, he was speeding.  Officers clocked him at 102 in a 65-miles-per-hour zone.  When they pulled him over, they also discovered that he was driving on a suspended license.

–He was booked for speeding, reckless driving, and the suspended license . . . and was later released on bond.  This is X’s 10th arrest in Arizona’s Maricopa County.

(–How dope would it be if you can just turn yourself in  when you have freetime to accrue time for  so you can be released  early when you do get locked up.)

–Back on March 23rd, two men walked into a branch of the International Bank of Commerce in Houston, Texas . . . forced two tellers into the vault . . . and stole more than $62,000.  They got away clean, and were never caught.

–And they might’ve gotten away with it too . . . if they hadn’t taken to Facebook.

–The day after the robbery, 18-year-old Ricky Gonzalez posted a Facebook status update that said, quote, “U have to past the line sometimes!  To get dis money!”  Yes, he said “past” and not “pass.”  Might not be dealing with a genius here.

–His girlfriend . . . 19-year-old Estefany Martinez . . . was one of the bank tellers during the robbery.  She posted, quote, “I’m rich, bitch!”  And two days before the robbery, she wrote, quote, “Get $$$.”

–The cops quickly connected it.  The robbery was an inside job, set up by Estefany and another teller named Anna Rivera.  The two robbers were Estefany’s boyfriend, Ricky, and Anna’s brother, a 22-year-old named Arturo Solano.

–All four are looking at up to 10 years in prison.

In January of 2004, a 23-year-old man was gunned down in front of a liquor store in Los Angeles.  Police believed it was a gang-related shooting, but they were never able to find the murderer, and the case went cold.

–Now, seven years later, the L.A.P.D. has finally solved the case . . . almost entirely by accident.

–They arrested 25-year-old Anthony Garcia for driving with a suspended license.  When he was being booked, the cops followed their standard procedure and took photographs of all his tattoos.

–A homicide investigator named Kevin Lloyd was flipping through the book of tattoos, and he saw Garcia’s.

–And he realized that Garcia was basically confessing to the liquor store murder . . . because he had THE ENTIRE CRIME SCENE tattooed on his chest.

–It even had tiny details:  Christmas lights from the liquor store roof . . . the victim’s body on the ground just like the cops had found it . . . a street sign . . . and an image of a helicopter shooting the victim, which was a reference to Garcia’s nickname, Chopper.

–In the tattoo, the victim was drawn like Mr. Peanut . . . and apparently in gang terms, someone from a rival gang is called a “peanut.”

–Garcia was arrested and put in a cell with an undercover cop.  The cop got him talking, and Garcia confessed to the murder.  He’s looking at 65 years to life in prison.  (Los Angeles Times) 

–Last week, 35-year-old Jose Luis Ochoa of Lamont, California was attending an underground cockfight.  There’s no confirmation on whether he had a bird in the fight or if he was just there to gamble or watch.

–Well . . . one of the roosters went rogue . . . turned on the crowd . . . and attacked Jose.  The rooster stabbed Jose in the calf with a razor-sharp knife that had been attached to its leg.

–Jose bled out and died about two hours later.  The autopsy confirmed that he died from a, quote, “accidental sharp force injury” to his calf.

–Everyone else fled the cockfight before the police and ambulance could come for Jose, so no arrests were made.  The police found five dead roosters at the scene.

–Last year, Jose pleaded no contest to one count of owning or training an animal for fighting and paid a $370 fine.

–In California, attending, organizing, or training animals for fighting are all misdemeanors.  On your second offense, it’s a felony.

–Around 2:00 A.M. on Saturday, three soldiers from the Fort Carson army base in Colorado were busted trying to rob a MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY in Colorado Springs.

–The dispensary’s security camera captured footage of 23-year-old Darius Thomas, 22-year-old Cory Young, and 22-year-old Ramone Hollins breaking in . . . then realizing the doors had locked behind them and they were TRAPPED INSIDE.

–They also weren’t able to get any reefer because it’s all locked up in a safe overnight.

–The police got a call from a neighboring business reporting the break-in and they showed up . . . and ended up needing to FREE the three men.

–All three are facing second-degree burglary charges.  They’re all on active duty at Fort Carson . . . there’s no word on how the military will discipline them.  (Colorado Springs Gazette)

Grammy Award-winning R&B singer D’Angelo was arrested early yesterday after allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex while cruising alone through the West Village — with $12,000 stashed in his SUV.

D’Angelo, 36, whose real name is Michael Archer, was in his top-of-the-line Range Rover at Greenwich and Horatio streets at about 2:30 a.m. when he spotted a woman he took to be a prostitute, sources said.

He was arrested and charged with solicitation after asking the woman for sex, the sources said. His manager declined to comment.

New Orleans police arrested six men on Monday during a protest in support of jailed rappers Lil Wayne and Lil Boosie. Off duty officers witnessed the men spray painting the words “Free Lil Wayne” on the side of a building. The men also hung a “Free Lil Wayne and Lil Boosie” banner on a different building and used police barricades and trash cans to block traffic on one street.

The six men fled when cops moved in, but they were arrested after a short chase. They were charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest by flight and criminal damage to property.

Earlier this month, Lil Boosie was sentenced to four years in prison for violating his probation. (He was caught with a gun and marijuana.) Lil Wayne is expected to be sentenced to a year in prison two weeks from now. He was convicted illegal weapons possession after a loaded handgun was found on his tour bus in New York in 2007.

Former New York Giants receiver PLAXICO BURRESS was sentenced yesterday to TWO YEARS in prison, for accidentally shooting himself in the leg at a Manhattan nightclub last November. With time off for good behavior, he’ll probably serve 20 months.

–Burress arrived in court with his pregnant wife, their almost-3-year-old son, his father, stepmother and grandmother. He kissed his wife and son goodbye before being led out of the courtroom.

–The sentence wasn’t unexpected. Burress struck a deal with prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted criminal possession of a weapon. In return, more serious charges were dropped.

–Still, Plaxico’s attorney, Benjamin Brafman, questioned the length of the sentence. He said, quote, “This was not an intentional criminal act. In my judgment, a two-year prison sentence is a very severe punishment.

–”[Burress is] a fundamentally decent man. This is a very real tragic case in many, many ways.”

–Burress was taken to Riker’s Island Prison . . . but he’ll be transferred to Fishkill Correctional Facility in upstate New York, where he’ll spend at least the next several weeks.

–Burress will be 33 when he gets out . . . and he fully intends to attempt an NFL comeback. He was released by the Giants this past spring.
