When one thinks of Boston and New York the first thing that comes to mind is the infamous Red Sox/Yankees rivalry. But this time when Boston meets New York it’s a collaborative effort to bring the world one of the tightest Hip Hop efforts of 2009. Hailing from Brownsville, Brooklyn, Masta Ace got his proper introduction setting off the quintessential Hip Hop posse cut, “The Symphony.” Not long after, Edo G’s debut Life Of A Kid In The Ghetto and it’s lead single “I Got To Have It” went to the top of the Billboard Rap Singles chart with heavy rotation on Yo ! MTV Raps. Both Ace and Ed have continued to stay relevant, tour the globe, and influence up and coming artists everywhere. The year is 2009 Rap Veteran’s Masta Ace & Edo G have teamed up to produce the album “Arts & Entertainment”. I must say this album is quite refreshment from all the Gun Play/Dough boy rhymes that seem to dominate the game as we speak. This album has that classic Boom Bap feel to it, the production is flawless Ace & Edo enlists the likes of Large Professor, M-Phazes, Dj Spinna, just to name a few. The albums lead single “Little Young” talks about all of the rappers with the names Little or Young, Very Cleaver !!!! (Instant Classic) On top of that some of features include the likes of Marsha Ambrosious formerly ½ of the group Floetry, Posdnuos from legendary group De La Soul, The Teacha KRS-One, and Doitall from the Lords of The Underground. Stand out banga’s consist of track #4 A’s & E’s (This is what we do) the track was produced by Baby Dukes, #9 Good Music is a throwback jawn..produced by Dj Spinna, and #11 Pass The Mic Ft KRS-One produced by Double-O. All In All this album is a definite classic aka a Full Tank of Petro……..Salute

I just listened to some of the songs but I can say they weren’t like great.. but it is my personal opinion of course.
Hip hop is just not like it used to be imo.
Thanks a lot for the good review anyway. Masta Ace and Edo G deserve attention as the are truly legends in hip hop.
p.s. for those who haven’t listened to the tracks of this album you may try to search youtube. I saw them uploaded yesterday but am not sure how long they will stay there as the album is brand new.
